Story Behind the Song

All I Have Is Christ began with a simple desire to write a song about the joy of surrendering to Jesus.

Jordan Kauflin wrote it with his father Bob Kauflin, who leads Sovereign Grace Music, never imagining how widely the Lord would use it. The song has since been sung across the world, translated into multiple languages, and helped countless people understand the gospel: who Jesus is and what he has done.

This is a song that has taken on a life of its own. The prayer in the third verse is not just Jordan's. It is an invitation for every believer to ask God to use their new life in any way He chooses, and to declare that their only boast is Jesus. As you learn and sing it this month, that prayer can become yours too.
