[Verse 1]
Jesus, joy of the highest heaven
Born as a little baby
Under a wondrous star
Like us, crying he takes His first breath
Held by His mother, helpless
Close to her beating heart
Jesus, laid in a lowly manger
Facing a world of dangers
Come to turn me a stranger
Into a child of God
[Verse 2]
Jesus, King of the highest heaven
Learning to take His first steps
That He might bring us life
Like us, knowing our smiles and sorrows
He showed the way to follow
A way that is true and right
Jesus, takе away every darkness
Stеady my simple footsteps
That I might in your goodness
Live as a child of God
Bible Memory Verse
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
(Luke 2:11-12 -ESV)
Eliza as a baby!
The Getty Girls, Klemme kids, and St. Paul Christian Academy sing “Jesus, Joy of the Highest Heaven.”
Something to Think About
Is there a sweeter sound in the world than the sound of children singing? At this time of year we hear them sing so much more and I am glad of that!
When I hear children sing out the good news of the Lord Jesus’ birth it is like a light goes on in my heart and I see more clearly. I remember that Jesus came to us a little child. And I remember that it is with faith and wonder like a little child that we come to Him as our Lord and Savior and greatest friend.
In fact Psalm 8 tells us that the voices of children show the strength of the Lord. He takes something small in the eyes of the world - made by Him and not by themselves - and He reveals His wonder through them, silencing all his enemies.
Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.’ (Psalm 8, ESV)
The Lord has given you a voice to sing and it is beautiful and powerful. Use it to sing to Him and to tell others about Him this Christmas time!
Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you that you became a little child like us so that you could be our Savior. Help us to trust in you and sing out your good news this Christmas time!
In Jesus name,
Amen
