Keith & Kristyn Getty share passion to see resurgence in carol singing by reintroducing some of the greatest hymns of the Christian faith一Christmas carols

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 30, 2018—Modern hymn-writers Keith and Kristyn Getty, widely known for songs such as “In Christ Alone”, share their passion to reform Christmas carol singing by reintroducing some of the greatest hymns of the Christian faith--Christmas carols.

It is out of this passion and desire to reform carol singing that the Gettys are bringing their 7th annual Christmas Tour to cities all across America. The Gettys will be joined by speakers and artists from every genre, including Tim Keller, Joni Eareckson Tada, Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, David Platt, Paul David Tripp, Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth and many others. More information about specific guests at each event can be found at the Getty's website.

The tour, “Sing! An Irish Christmas,” will travel to cities all across America to perform in concert halls and church venues including Carnegie Hall (N.Y.), John F. Kennedy Center (D.C.) and many others.

The Getty’s Christmas concert tour has grown to be one of the largest annual Christmas concert tours in the nation and has been broadcasted on public television to over 45 million households across the country. They will be joined by their award winning band of instrumentalists - fusing Celtic, bluegrass, Americana, modern and classical music as well as cultural dance and the choral sounds of the holiday.

Keith Getty, who was recently awarded the “Officer of the Order of the British Empire” (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II, has helped reinvent the modern hymn form, and is now working to reinvigorate Christmas carol singing across America.

The tour is part of the Getty’s larger Sing! initiative and learning journey to help pastors, musicians and leaders build a Biblical understanding and creative vision for congregational singing in their churches.

“We believe that there is no more imperative time for believers to gather together in song than at the Christmas season," says Keith Getty. "For many, this season represents celebration and joy, yet for others it can be a painful reminder of those we've lost. In any instance, we are all strengthened when we declare our faith through singing, and the great Christmas carols are some of the best expressions we have of the truths we believe."
